It’s our new way of celebrating New Year!
Happy New Year Everyone! This is going to be my first blog for the year 2013. And I’m excited to share you how we welcomed 2013! My family and I did not celebrated it the usual way - tumble new year just inside our house, watch our neighbors shoot off fireworks or watch the KAPAMILYA/KAPUSO countdown. Instead, we went to the Quezon City Memorial Circle to watch bands and artists perform LIVE and of course to watch the multicolored fireworks dance at exactly 12AM.

I didn’t know actually the names of the artists who entertained the crowd. Shamrock & Alamid serenaded the people.
We still had to wait for 3 hours before 2013! Take a peek on what we did while waiting!

10 minutes left before 2012 ends, the people were all set and ready!

And in 5 4 3 2 1 seconds, it was a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HAPPY 2013 EVERYONE! (:
The best of 2012

Thank you Lord for making me experience all of these with my loved ones. Looking forward to a great 2013 with many more good things and happy moments!
The people of my year 2012
Hey! Meet the people of my year 2012 - the ones who influenced, moved me and made impact on my every day life.
1. Ana Maria I. Cabaluna
I can say that I am a lucky one having her as my boss. I like her so much because she tries to make personal connections with us, she doesn’t show favoritism, she is very understanding of our needs and strengths, it is very comfortable working with her, she is open when it comes to expressing issues, ideas and thoughts and she is honest because she always lets us know if there is anything we can do or do differently to improve in our work. She is my idol. For me, she is superwoman because she can balance her life as a boss, a friend and a mother of three children. If I’d become a boss someday, I want myself to be like her.
I’m going to miss her so much. She will not be my boss anymore by the year 2013.
2. Christine Ann S. Tarvena
D’rin, as we call her. She always keeps us sane because she is crazy and funny especially when you hear her crack a joke. At the same time, she is passionate, hardworking and driven. This girl got a big heart. She loves her family so much that she keeps sending money to them just to support and provide them their daily needs. I idolize her because of that. Her kindness is one of the things I look up to the most and I hope to become like her someday.
3. Denver I. Sarmiento
The person who has a great willingness to help, comfort and guide you all the time, that is my friend Denver. He is an adviser a big brother to me. I miss bonding with him. He is actually very busy right now because of the work load. I admire him so because he is very profound especially at work. I also love the fact that he can manage everything - family, friends, work, religion - despite of his very busy schedule.
4. Jester John P. Palaypay, Allan John G. Lumibao & Alejandro A. Alonzo
Another huge blessing that 2012 brought me when these three came along. They were my classmates during our training in our company. These three have their own winning traits that I constantly learn from. Their ideas and optimism remind me of happy things in life.
5. Kim Aubrey R. Franco
My sister has some major life events every year that makes me admire her strong character even more. This year, she just got admitted at the College of Engineering at University of the Philippines, Diliman. Good things happen to good people. And my awesome sister is a proof of that.
6. Workmates
My workmates have been part of my life for two years now and it just feels so good to know that all of them loves you back because you love them so dearly.
7. Mark A. Rodriguez
There is so many things about him that I admire. There is so much about him that makes him special. What most attracted me to him in the beginning I think was that he is a very intelligent person. I thank him for loving me for who I am, for wanting me to be happy always, for making me feel like a princess, for putting up with my craziness and weirdness. Mark will surely be always in my heart.
8. John Paulo S. Mallorca
He is also a new person in my year 2012. I guess it’s “understood” that a significant other is a major force in one’s life. He got a big heart and he is thoughtful of me that I become more thoughtful as well. I honestly wish more people would be like him.. as kind and giving and caring.
9. Aurora R. Franco
My mom and dad of course. “Hay naku, when you grow older, you will remember ‘my mom said this, I should’ve listened’”, it is really true. It’s in the little things that make a big impact on life as we grow older. I will never get tired of saying that who I am as a person now, I owe to my mom for bringing me up the way she did. I hope to live up to those values and forever make my family proud.
Thank you to these people for being such a blessing in my life.
Who are the people of your year? I’m sure they would love to be surprised with the thought of their making an impact on you life. Go for it, make your list. And tell them your thankful. (:
Year-end meet up
with college friends Regina & Wilbert @ Red Mango Trinoma Mall. Thank you for endless chikahan & tawanan.

Technical Department Christmas Party
It’s Christmas season again! Time for parties again! I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want fun and celebrations, do you? So the people from the Technical Department planned a Christmas party at Crown Royale Hotel and Nico’s Bar Restaurant last December 14.
Just like in our Company’s Christmas Party, we had raffle draw. There will be 5 winners of Php100 and 1 lucky winner of Php500. The money was sponsored of course by KK (many thanks to him hehe). Congratulations to the 4 winners of Php100. If you’re wondering who was the last Php100 winner? Well, that’s me! Wee! :P Congratulations also and many thanks to Php500 winner, Denver, for he voluntarily (really??? HAHA) shared his prize to us (we used it to buy ice cream) :P
As part of the Filipino’s Christmas Tradition, we also had gift giving. KK was the first one who gave her present to her Monita, Ms. Maru. She received a huge and huggable teddy bear.

Ms. Maru’s Monito was Dave. Dave’s Monito was Sir Gerry who was unfortunately not present in the party. Sir Gerry’s Monito was Sir Rolly. (sorry! I wasn’t able to take pictures of themselves :P)
It was then Sir Rolly’s turn to give his present to KK. KK was very happy to have his soft pillow and bible.

Steve’s wish just came true when Sir Adrian gave him a tumbler.

Steve’s Monita was Ms. Ann. Ms. Ann gave Ms. Rina a pink earring stand display.

Ms. Rina described her Monita as ‘pinakamabait’. “Kasi siya ung laging nagliligpit ng pinagkainan natin pag Department meeting”, she explained. It was Ms. Marlene.

Ms. Marlene’s Monita was Me. She gave me what I asked in our wish list. It was a red wallet from Tomato.
My Monita, whom I described ‘maarteng maarte (jokingly)’ was Ms. Julie. I gave her 6 pairs of gold stud earrings from Aldo.

Ms. Julie present to Sir Adrian was a mug from Starbucks.

The next one to give her present was Ms. Grace. She gave Ayel a red Jansport bag.

AJ was Ayel’s Monito. He received dumbbell plates and a push-up bar.

AJ gave sling bag to her Monita, Ms. Jen. Ms. Jen gave drum stick to her Monito, Denver. Ate Ann’s wish also came true after she received neck pillow from Denver.

Ate Ann’s present to Ms. Grace was a black wallet also from Tomato.

After gift exchanging, we then proceed to everyone’s favorite - dancing, videoke and of course picture taking. (:

How we ended our night? Well, we had moooreee fun at Nico’s.

I wish that this will not be my last moment with the Technical Department people. I will be missing them so much. By the year 2013, I will be having my new boss, I will become a part of a new Department and new Division. But here in my heart, I promise that I will not forget them. Sir Rolly, Ms. Jen, Dave and Aj, Ms. Marlene and Ms. Maru, Ms. Rina and Ms. Julie, and lastly, to my boss, Ms. Ann, to all of them from whom I have learned a lot. I will always cherish the moments, the fun and the laughter we had together as part of the Technical Department. (:
